Bio

Prior to my current role as an Internship Coordinator, I taught English in Japan through the JET Programme and worked as a Study Abroad Advisor and an Academic Advisor in the United States.

The breadth and depth of my professional responsibilities, student engagements, and experiences in diverse cultural orientations and administrative systems afford me substantial social capital to work well with all individuals.

When I am not working, I am either playing tennis, doing laps at a pool, exploring Salt Lake City, jogging, or learning how to “cook” a great meal from YouTube.

PHILOSOPHY OF ENGAGEMENT:

I have a grassroots appreciation for diversity, inclusion, and equity because of my lived experiences as a Nepalese-American in the U.S., Japan, and Australia. The combination of being in both culturally ambiguous and complex environments has allowed me to be comfortable with discomfort and become an effective people problem solver.

In my student engagements, I take a student-centered and equity-minded approach. The exchange of ideas and values is paramount for establishing trust, discussing your respective situation, and discovering appropriate next steps to ensure your professional success.

Let’s enjoy the process!
