My name is Joe Carney, a 20+ year sales and marketing executive who recently left corporate America to start a company of purpose called, ZIYNX. The goal of ZIYNX is to help companies discover young, diverse talent starting with athletes by allowing them to be seen and heard versus just scanned. I believe the character and potential of our younger generation is just as important as their GPA and college attended.
I was very fortunate to work for some amazing companies and people; ESPN, MLB, NFL, Viacom and most recently Derek Jeter's, The Players' Tribune. Throughout my journey, I was able to amass an extensive and influential network of people who have already been so helpful as I embark on my latest mission. Despite loving my job and the people I worked with, I knew my purpose was greater than closing deals and making money, and want my legacy to be one my family and friends could be proud of.
I am the father of two amazing children, Jojo and Paige, and the husband to a rockstar wife, Danielle who is an executive for Disney. I grew up in Queens NY and moved to Nassau County, Long Island 15 years ago after Danielle and I got married. From being an advisor to the YMCA of Greater New York to volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, I've always had a passion to help others, which led to the founding of ZIYNX.
I look forward to networking with other like minded people who share my mission to help others, starting with the next generation of talent as they look to enter the "real world". I strongly believe that is we are going to change what the future workforce looks like, we must start at the foundation, no different than building a new home.
Fun fact about me and my family is that both my parents were adopted as is my youngest brother, Michael. The experiences I've gone through in life have molded me to think different than most, and accept all our differences.
